Oh, You Poor Blog!

You are a pathetic little thing, aren't you?  I love you so much, really I do, but I just haven't had much time to spend with you lately.

I have a great photo for yesterday's Wordless Wednesday, but (shhh) right now I'm at work so I can't post it, since said photo is at home.

And when I'm at home, I'm trying to teach my students, and make dinner, and get the Christmas stuff put away, and put back all the non-Christmas stuff that is piled on the chairs, and I want to clean the blinds and wash the windows since it's so warm and sunny--it's making me feel all nesty.

And Paul will be home in 15 days, which is completely surreal to me.  You know, you spend your whole life looking forward to something, and one day, it happens.  Like if your little tiny baby son grows up and then he goes on a two year mission, and then pretty soon, it's only 15 days until he comes home, and you're super excited, but you don't really know what to do about it, because it's just one of those great big things.  I can't believe we're here!

Whoa, life!  Slow down!!

I need to buy blinds for Paul's new bedroom, which isn't finished by the way.  We're still at studs!  I also need to buy some new bedding, and a dresser and a bookshelf or desk or something.  The drywall, painting, carpet, and doors are up to Dennis.

I should probably plan some food for the open hosue, too.  Hmmm.  There's more to do than I thought!

So, poor little blog, I'll have to tell you later about Kate's plans to audition for the School of Music.  I'll have to tell you later about Wade's broken finger.  I would love to, but probably won't have the time, to tell you about our lovely Christmas and our fun New Year's.

I would also love to tell you about my most recent mid-life crisis (I keep having these...what does that mean?!).  I would love to expound on the mysteries of the universe, like why cute little children grow up to be annoying teenagers, and how we end up loving them just the same, if not more.  I would like to tell you my philosophy about New Year's Resolutions, and why I never make them.  I would like to  discuss my plans for getting my flute overhauled, and tell you how excited I am to go to Disneyland in a few weeks!!

However, I need to get back to work, and when I get home from work, I'll probably forget all about you.  I'll try super hard to put up my Wordless Wednesday picture from yesterday, but I'm not making any promises.  It's like a New Year's Resolution, and I'll break it, so I'm not even going to make it.

Life flies and flies and something's, like blogs, take a back seat.

Everything will get done in time for your baby's arrival, and it will be a glorious reunion. No worries!

I've decided that the first couple of weeks of January are merely clean-up and exhaustion. So happy that you have a wonderful homecoming to look forward to! :)
